Just installed it and I would love to have the ability to:

1.) Limit the output (e.g. limit to 10 articles)
2.) Sort the output (e.g. latest first)

Hello! this is a wonderfull module, it fits perfect to my needs, just wondering if there is any way to limit the related items to subcategories also? my example is that i hav a sofware/harware directory, each is a category, but each has lots of options, for example pc parts in hardware, procesors and hardrives, but products under processors are not related to hardrive products! so i would really like a way to determine the related articles in subcategory also. if its posible ofcourse!

Maybe I don't understand clearly your request.

Is the "procesors" a subcategory or a custom field (list or checkbox)?

let me see if i can put ir right.. hmmm... what i ment is there a way to use subcategories as the option for the relater items rather than or with the categories?

For example:
Sobi2 category structure:
-hardware
---monitor
---processor
---motherboard

Joomla content:
- article with keyword: hardware

Module Setting:
Use S2 category name : YES

Currently the module shows the article only if you are within hardware (root) category, and you would like to see the article if you are within monitor category too.

In the next version I will implement a new option: Use root category name.

Where can I find the minimum documentation for module installation and usage ?

I achieved installing module through joomla module installation interface and activated module. But I can see nothing more in my Sobi detailed view. I cannot se any module displayed on left frame.

I reverted to sobi2 original detailed view template to make sure my template modifs were not causing the problem but it changes nothing.

Description says articles with matching meta keywords should be displayed in detailed view but I do not find indication on where to set those keywords.

(internet site and forum is quite hard to use for english/french only speekers).

I'm sorry, but I no have time to translate the whole site.
I try to use well-known extensions like kunena.
Maybe it make easiest if you change the language in the usermenu.

The settings:
(Please try this example)

0., Install the module like am average Joomla module.

1.,(Sobi2)
Set meta keyword for an Sobi2 entry.
For example : test

2.,(Joomla article)
Set the meta keyword for an article.
For example : test

3.,(Sobi2 Related Article Module)
Set the module position.
Number of items : 1
Section filter: leave empty
Category filter: leave empty
Limit : 100
Hide module: no

4., Open the details view of Sobi2 entry what yout set in the first step.

You should see the Related article module in the right position.

Please let me know the results!

Problem came from "Hide module"

On the other hand, I'm a bit disapointed because I thought the full text of related article(s) would be displayed in the body of the Sobi entry and not in a separate module.

Is there a way to modify the detailed view template to display the article inside sobi entry ?

This is a module which shows the related articles of the current sobi2 entry in a module position.

I dont understand why you want to put an article in the body of an entry, but maybe you can find useful this topic: Insert module in Sobi2 Component

I understand why you want to use, but I think the options what you write me those are not the right ways.

I think the mix of the sobi2 and the J! article is bad idea. You will have lots of problem with that in the future.

If you would like to send newsletter from the sobi2 entries than you need to modify the selected newsletter component.

I think you should :
- create a site with sobi2
- chose a good newsletter component ( maybe which can use J!article)
- see the code of newsletter component where reach the article.
- modify / add code to use sobi2 entries too. (this is not 1-2 line)

I allow the author of an entry to write articles and show titles on the detailed view.

Hi Mano, it would be great if there was an option to set a minimum number of keywords to be matched - often it is useful to set at least two or three keywords to get more relevant (and not just loosely connected) content. Thanks. P. (BTW Hungarian looks crazy, I wonder whether I'll press the right button now:)

The Joomla article and the sobi2 don't have real tag system so I can't do exact keyword searching.
I know this problem and I have created a PRO version of this module. This is not published yet because I don't have time to test it and write a detaild description.

In this module, you can set the relatin type between the J!article and Sobi2 entries.

Relation type:
1., Sobi2 metakeys (origianal)
2., Sobi2 custom field with metakeys
3., Sobi2 custom field with article ids
4., Sobi2 custom field with category ids
5., Sobi2 custom field with section ids
6., Article metakey with Sobi2 ID's

What do you think, you can use one of these options?
